The Boat Building Academy (BBA) is a not-for-profit social enterprise and grew out of the Lyme Regis International School of Boatbuilding in 2003.  Training is the main activity within the Lyme Regis Marine Centre and new courses are constantly being added. These include practical shorebased seamanship courses and everything from sail making & repairs to RYA yachtmaster including radio, radar, diesel engine maintenance, electronics, boat electrics and a host of other useful snippets. This could be just the course for those intending to sail off to far flung places or for those working in the superyacht industry.

A number of those trained at the BBA have been involved in the construction of the new Sail Training Ship PELICAN OF LONDON, now at sea in the Caribbean after her first trans-Atlantic training voyage  - see  other_services.html
